The Waco Symphony Council Belles & Brass Program is an educational program designed to introduce young people of Central Texas to cultural and leadership experiences that are not found in any other organization in our community.
The Belles & Brass Program includes:
Support of the Waco Symphony Orchestra
- Belles & Brass participants usher at Waco Symphony Concerts and Pre-Concert Lectures.
- Belles & Brass, as well as their parents, assist with Waco Symphony Council fundraising events.
- Belles & Brass Sponsors must purchase Waco Symphony season tickets at the Sustainer level or above and join the Waco Symphony Council at the Grace Notes ($50) level or above.

- Entertaining and Social Etiquette
- Leadership Development Skills
Community Service Opportunities
- Volunteer at Waco Symphony Council-sponsored events.
Presentation of Belles & Brass
Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Waco Hall with a Presentation Ball at Ridgewood Country Club following.
Participants in this program attend both public and private schools throughout Central Texas, which offers Waco Symphony Council Belles & Brass the opportunity to meet and work with peers outside of their usual social groups. New friendships are formed, and life-long lessons are learned.
Registration for the program will include the following:
- Completion of the Waco Symphony Council’s Sophomore Belles form to obtain the required information for participation in the program and payment of dues.
- Purchase of Membership in the Waco Symphony Council at the Grace Notes ($50) level or higher and volunteering for a committee.
- Purchase of Waco Symphony Season tickets at the Sustainer level or higher.

Duchess Mary Elizabeth of the House of Barnhill
Mary Elizabeth Barnhill is the daughter of Elizabeth and Bryon Barnhill. Mary Beth is a Midway High School graduate and was a Symphony Belle in 2021 as well as a princess in Festival on the Brazos in 2022. Mary Beth attends Baylor University and is majoring in Marketing. She is a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority and a member of Women in Business at Baylor. Through Kappa Kappa Gamma, Mary Beth has worked with CHAMP (Children’s health and mentorship program) and the JED foundation by visiting local elementary schools and spreading awareness to children about mental health.

Alexander Colgin Dietz is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Henry Dietz, Jr. Alex is a BBA Finance and BA Film and Media Arts major at Southern Methodist University, where he is a BBA Scholar, Provost Scholar, and in the University Honors Program. He was accepted into the prestigious EnCap Investments LCM Group Alternative Asset Management Center Program. Alex is a member of Beta Upsilon Chi fraternity and serves as Vice President of Public Relations for Interfraternity Council. He is a Career Captain for the SMU Hegi Career Leaders, CAP Mentor for the SMU Cox Career Accelerator Program, and a member of the SMU Energy Club, Emerging Leaders Program, and Alpha Phi Omega. Alex is an Eagle Scout and a former Waco Symphony Brass.
Royal Escort William Henry Dietz III
William Henry Dietz III is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Henry Dietz, Jr. Liam is a BFA Film and Media Arts major with a minor in Arts Entrepreneurship at Southern Methodist University, where he received an Artistic Scholarship from the Meadows School of the Arts. He has worked in the camera and electrical department for the feature films Smile, Crossroads, and Egg Drop Soup, and as a production assistant on Clint Harp’s television series, Restoration Road. Liam was nominated for Best Lead Actor at the Wild Bunch Film Festival for his portrayal of The Cowboy in the award-winning short film Zorgon the Wonderhorse. He is a member of Beta Upsilon Chi fraternity. Liam is an Eagle Scout and a former Waco Symphony Brass.
